If Tony and Ziva’s ‘NCIS’ Spin-Off Doesn’t Make This One Change, It Will Be a Disappointment

After years of the slow-burn romance between Tony DiNozzo (Michael Weatherly) and Ziva David (Cote de Pablo) in NCIS, the duo is finally sharing the screen once again in their own spin-off, simply titled NCIS: Tony & Ziva. When Ziva was introduced in NCIS Season 3, Episode 1, “Kill Ari (Part I),” there was already chemistry brewing between her and Tony.

For seasons on end, the duo would take one step further towards confessing their feelings, while also taking two steps back. It was initially fun to watch this dynamic over the years, but it got to a point where it became more frustrating than cute. The series saw the pair in relationships with other people, but those would never work out to really highlight that Tony and Ziva should be together.
